Step-by-step guidance
Why panels ask profile questions
Research companies use profile information to match people to studies and build the audience a client needs. That can include age, household, work, shopping habits and other demographic information. Read the privacy policy so you know who controls the data and whether research partners receive it.
Give accurate information, but do not share credentials that are unrelated to research. Use a unique password for each survey account and enable additional account security where a provider offers it.
Separate research from account security
A survey question about financial products is different from a request for your banking password, card PIN or one-time security code. Do not provide authentication credentials in a survey.
Know your exit route
Before joining, check how to contact support, update your profile and close the account. If you stop using a panel, review its inactivity and balance rules first so you understand what happens to unredeemed rewards.
